The umbrella has become an icon of revolution due to the brilliant and innovative methods put in place by Hong Kong protesters. They have shown that everyday objects can become a multi functioning tool in times of need. What else could be added to this iconic object to make it even more useful? In this case we take inspiration from police riot shields that have a small window allowing officers to see out while staying protected.

This  design is quick and simple. Cut out a portion of your umbrella and replace it with a see through material. Make sure you use strong duct tape to keep it in place.
